"May I somehow touch
a chord in your being by sparking some remembering
of your own experience. And from each drawing
and bronze may some glimmer of the full-sized
animal be realized. If I come close to the mark
of the animal seen in the wild, then I am rewarded."

Dutch Flats is a flatland
area of the Black Hills located near Lead, South
Dakota. This lush forested region, as well as
many other areas of the Black Hills (e.g. Terry
Peak, Spearfish Canyon, Custer) serve as the setting
for much of the artwork in this collection.
